Hi, I’m Rory, and I’ve been practicing massage therapy since 2004. I grew up playing sports in Northern Utah, and my first professional massage at 16—at a day spa next to the gym where I trained—was a turning point. I was sore, tired, and figured massage would help, and I’ve been giving and receiving massage ever since.
I originally thought massage school would be a way to work through college on my way to a “real” career, but 22 years later I’m still here—because I love this work and can’t imagine doing anything else.
My focus is real pain relief, not just relaxation (though both can happen with the right speed and pressure). I use a mix of techniques—including Swedish, deep tissue, trigger point, and sports massage—and I’m best known for deep tissue work that’s effective and individualized.
Communication is key in every session. I take a few minutes up front to understand what’s going on and what you need that day, and I check in on pressure so we stay in that sweet spot: deep, effective work without “no pain, no gain.” Too much pain works against what we’re trying to accomplish, so I’ll always ask for feedback and adjust as needed. I also take notes each session so we can stay consistent and keep building on what works for you.
I trained at the Utah College of Massage Therapy in Salt Lake City, and I’m nationally certified, with licensure in Utah and Arizona (AZ license MT-29268). If you’re dealing with pain anywhere in your body, there’s a good chance I’ve worked with something similar (or experienced it myself), and I’d love to work together to see what we can do about yours.
